Our Monsters, Our Selves: Writing Horror that Resonates

  • Workshop
  • Events

Horror is having a moment, and it is more than just jump scares. Develop a toolkit for building atmosphere, tension and character in horror writing with award-winning author Katya de Becerra.

This hands-on workshop explores horror as a mirror to identity, trauma and transformation. It explains how to craft emotionally resonant horror that lingers through guided exercises, group discussion and scene-building labs.

By drawing on examples from cutting-edge horror, Katya demonstrates how to build atmosphere, develop unforgettable characters and write fear that is both beautiful and terrifying.

Whether you’re a seasoned horror writer or simply curious, come discover the monsters within and what they reveal about your world and yourself.

Bring pen and paper or a fully charged device to participate in the writing exercises.
