Roman Marble Mosaic Masterclass

  • Workshop
  • Events

Travel back to Ancient Rome in this immersive artist led mosaic workshop using hand-cut marble tesserae and traditional hand tools and methods.

Under the guidance of Melbourne-based artist Cetta Pilati, you will create a 15cm by 15cm mosaic inspired by the ancient artworks on display in the exhibition Rome: Empire, Power, People. In this workshop you will learn and practice traditional Roman placement techniques that require no grouting, while gaining a deeper understanding of marble placement and composition.

Before the workshop, gain exclusive access to explore Rome: Empire, Power, People after-hours to draw inspiration from the mosaics on display.

This workshop is for adults 18+. All materials are provided.
