Moonlight Cinema Melbourne

This ever-popular experience in the Royal Botanic Gardens is back. Get your picnic and rug ready for films like Shang-Chi, Black Widow and Cruella. There’s a licensed bar, candy bar and food trucks on-site too. Even better? You can bring your dog!

Summer Cinema at Melbourne Zoo

Spend a balmy evening watching a movie on the big screen in the lush surrounds of the Melbourne Zoo. Visit the animals and check out the DJs before settling in on the lawn for a line-up of new and classic flicks.

NGV Summer Nights

3 Jan - 30 Jan

As part of their free Summer Nights program, the NGV is airing a line-up of French (or French-inspired) flicks in the Great Hall. Be transported to Paris with screenings of Amélie, Last Year in Marienbad and more. Enjoy charcuterie and drinks from the kitchen. Or head out into the garden for live music sets and pop-up bars and dining. Entry is free.

Enjoy fave Disney flicks in the comfort of your own car. Drive up and watch The Parent Trap, Moulin Rouge, Moana and more. Pre-book tickets to The Park, a private picnic section perfect for summer date nights.

Sing your way through Mamma Mia! or enjoy Aussie faves from Storm Boy to Muriel's wedding. There are afternoon and evening sessions for night owls and early birds alike.

Hellenic Museum Summer Cinema

5 Feb

Settle in just before sunset to enjoy another year of this leafy outdoor cinema. Greek street food and beverages will be available to purchase and filmgoers can grab popcorn and a pagoto (Greek ice-cream). Catch comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding or the Greek-language flick Mermaids and Rascals. The open-air cinema is part of Hellenic Arts Fest.
