There's plenty to love at Christmas Square, and you can't miss the 17.5-metre high LED tree. Wander through endless glittering decorations day and night, starting 29 November. Explore a wonderland of events and dazzling decorations, check off your Christmas list at thousands of city shops, and savour the season with festive feasts at family-friendly restaurants.
Take a Santa photo in your footy colours
3 to 23 December
Marvel Stadium is being transformed into the North Pole this Christmas, but with a very Melbourne twist! Find you favourite club's AFL Christmas tree and snap a pic with Santa. Or check out the glorious nine-meter Marvel-themed tree. Next, head to Santa’s 360° Cinema Dome for immersive 22-minute Christmas films.
See a magical Christmas river show
From 29 November to 25 December
A spectacular river show is coming to Crown this Christmas! Head to Southbank Promenade to catch this dazzling Christmas show featuring water fountains, lasers, light projections and a festive soundtrack. Shows will run every 15 minutes each night.
Catch a screening of your fave festive films
7 December to 22 December
Get to the iconic Capitol Theatre to see your favourite Christmas movies. The program features a mix of cult-classic family favourites including Home Alone, The Muppet Christmas Carol and The Grinch. They're playing on Saturdays through December for just a $5 donation.
Take a yuletide thrill ride at the Christmas carnival
6 to 8 December and 11 to 24 December
Enjoy festive thrills on the banks of the Birrarung at the Christmas Carnival. Ride the Ferris wheel and drive the dodgems. Or get the best view of the city lights as you spin 35 meters in the air on top of the Sky Flyer. Then try your luck at much-loved carnival games. Entry is free. Tokens for each ride can be purchased at the ticket box on site.
See a festive new bubble show
23 and 24 December
A cute new Christmas show is coming to Melbourne for two magical days. Mayhem breaks loose when Dr Bubble, Santa's official bubble maker, accidentally brings a new friend to life. Kids of all ages will be dazzled by the stunning bubble displays in this Christmas adventure.
Visit the iconic annual Carols by Candlelight
23 and 24 December
Melbourne's most beloved Christmas tradition returns for another star-studded year. See famous faces perform stirring renditions of all your favourite festive tunes. Visit on Christmas Eve or score discounted tickets for the rehearsal on 23 December. And it's all for a good cause – the Carols raise money for Vision Australia's children's services.
