What is historical fiction? Why write about the past, and how does it relate to the present?
In this day-long workshop you’ll explore how to write characters who readers care about. You’ll address time and narrative structure. There’ll be plenty of discussion and hands-on writing exercises with supportive tutor feedback.
Your inspiration may be a stash of mementos from a dusty attic, an interest in a particular time and place, a ton of research, or perhaps a wistful desire to time-travel. Your tale may be traditional or experimental, set entirely in the past, or in a mix of time-frames. Whether you have work-in-progress or something at the early concept stage, this workshop is for you.
