Wearable Art: Design your own Tee with Hana Assafari

  • Workshop
  • Activity

Eat, drink and design with Hana Assafari brings food and fine art together for one afternoon at Morocco Global.

Hana Assafari transforms discarded furniture and found objects into collectable innovative home furnishings, timeless sculptural forms built from what others overlook. Her practice draws on centuries of craft and art history, filtered through a distinctly contemporary lens – part sculpture, part design, entirely her own.

You will walk away with one of a kind, hand painted t-shirt of your own design, created under Hana's guidance with paint and brushes supplied – all you need to bring is a white T-shirt. You'll also enjoy Moroccan finger food and premium Moroccan tea.

Over coffee and conversation, guests will hear directly from Hana about her process, her materials and the ideas behind the work, before browsing pieces up close.

Come curious, leave inspired — with a new way of seeing the objects around you.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
