Throughout the day, dining in the 1700s and 1800s could require an extensive array of elegant silver objects, ranging from cutlery, plates and vessels for consuming various drinks, to numerous specialised serving items.
In this presentation, Matthew Lafite introduce several important objects from The Johnston Collection that were designed for use at the dining table, including magnificent pieces from the Roger Brookes Bequest.
Matthew Lafite is a specialist in English, Irish and Scottish silver and a member of the London Association of Art & Antique Dealers and the Australian Antique Dealers Association.
