The Open House Melbourne Weekend celebrates good design by opening up a diverse range of buildings, places and spaces, inspiring public engagement in conversations about the future of our city.

In 2025, they’re once again throwing open doors across Melbourne — inviting you to discover and experience the stories that shape this remarkable city.

This year’s festival presents a program of almost 200 building openings, tours, talks and events that illuminate stories hidden behind closed doors or overlooked in everyday life. Gain insights into how good design plays a significant role in addressing the critical issues that are shaping Melbourne’s form, future and identity.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
