Open House Melbourne Weekend

  • Free
  • Festival

The Open House Melbourne Weekend is a celebration of good design.

Taking place on the last weekend of July, you are invited to participate in building tours, walking tours, talks and events in collaboration with architects and designers, building custodians, community organisations and creative practitioners that demonstrate the significant role that design has to play in the issues shaping our city.

This year's theme is Generous City. A generous city gives more than it takes. It welcomes participation, opens doors and minds and creates space for everyone to belong.

Through Generous City, Open House Melbourne invites you to explore how we can design a more open, equitable and compassionate city that gives back, looks after one another and makes space for everyone.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
