During the Open House Melbourne weekend, the Parliament of Victoria will offer guided tours of Parliament House, allowing visitors to learn about the historic building and the role of Parliament in debating issues and passing laws. These tours will be presented by their professional tour guides.
Visitors will move through the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers and learn about the Westminster style of Parliament, explore the grand Queen’s Hall, admire the portraits of past Premiers that adorn the walls, and discover the Parliamentary Library holding more than 50,000 books and reports.
Tours last 40-minutes, and run every 15-minutes from 10am, with the last tour at 3pm. Tour group capacity is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitors will need to pass through security on arrival and are required to bring photo ID in the form of a valid Australian drivers licence, Australian passport, or foreign passport.
