Koorie Heritage Trust: Open House

  • Free
  • Tour

As part of Open House Melbourne explore the award-winning interior, find out about the design meaning, view the exhibitions and peek into the vast collection of cultural objects.

The Koorie Heritage Trust has expanded to occupy all three levels of the Birrarung Building at Fed Square. This has created a stand-alone and independent First Peoples arts and cultural centre, a first of its kind in an Australian capital city.

Join one of their experienced First Peoples guides and learn about the design elements of the building, the way the space is used as a cultural hub and why its place on the Birrarung is so significant. There will be video from the architects also playing in the Moogji Lounge.

Kids will have the opportunity to make a badge about their visit to KHT.

Note that guided tours only run on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July, 11am, 12pm & 1pm (45-min duration, in groups of 25). Tour group capacity is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, no bookings.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
