Ariana Reines in Conversation

  • Talk
  • Entertainment

Ariana Reines, poet, playwright, performer and translator, brings her fearless lyric to an afternoon of readings and conversation on her two most recent collections, The Rose and Wave of Blood.

In dialogue with Rebecca Harkins-Cross, Reines explores desire, violence, pleasure and the search for the divine, and considers what it means to write the poetry of witness today. Expect craft insights on voice, form and ritual, reflections on translation and performance, and poems that hold intense experience with clarity and care. The session invites listeners into a practice that is both intimate and expansive, where attention becomes an ethic and language remakes perception.

Whether you are a devoted poetry reader or simply curious about how art can make sense of a difficult world, this event offers candour, luminous language and the rare chance to hear one of America’s most electrifying voices up close.

Part of Melbourne Writers Festival.
