Myth and Religion in Ancient Cyprus

Located in the eastern Mediterranean, it straddled both the Greek and Near Eastern worlds in antiquity – a fact that can be seen most vividly through its religious sites, where Greek and Phoenician elements sat side by side for centuries.

Inspired by the Hellenic Museum's current international exhibition, Rituals: Gifts for the Gods, this talk explores many of the famous and fascinating religious sites of ancient Cyprus, and the myths that went along with them.
