In a series of sessions which pay tribute to the Japanese listening café tradition, participants will quietly share the pleasure of listening to a vinyl record. Join in the rare calm of an hour in Melbourne School of Design’s Japanese Room and take the opportunity to focus on the often-neglected practice of observation through listening. This intentional listening experience will be guided by slow looking practitioner Olivia Meehan. Each session of the listening programme will focus on a different record of either jazz, ambient, or piano music.
In a small group in a delightful architectural environment you can expect a 60-minute close listening experience with opportunities for discussion afterwards. This is a device-free environment so just bring yourself.
Registration is required to attend.
