Christmas with Jane Austen

This special festive afternoon includes a costumed lecture with Lise Rodgers in the Kent Room. Lise will share insights into Christmas traditions in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

From Jane Austen's recollections of Twelfth Night revels and games to observations of 'Yuletide' from correspondents of the day, discover Christmas as Jane Austen knew it. On arrival, enjoy a festive mince pie and sparkling wine in the ground-floor rooms of the exhibition-house, Fairhall.
