AlterCOP 30: 7Seasons Screening and Q&A

  • Free
  • Film

This short, youth-led documentary, created by George Clancy Lester: The Bee Man, aims to highlight the impacts of climate change on native bees, pollinators, and flowering plants, as well as other impacting environmental phenomena and bio-indicators like the timing of seasonal events.

Filmed on naarm and grounded in First Nations knowledge of climate and seasons, especially that of Wurundjeri people, the documentary aims to educate and engage the Melbourne community on the importance of pollinators and their conservation.

The documentary screening will be followed by a Question and Answer panel with the Creator and Director, George Clancy Lester (The Bee Man), Film Maker, Max Shannon, along with other special guests who contributed to the documentary.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
