MPavilion by Tadao Ando

Positioned within Melbourne's cultural and botanic garden precinct, MPavilion is a tranquil sanctuary reminiscent of a traditional Japanese walled garden featuring a canopy disc and expansive pond, surrounded by lush greenery and cityscape.

Since 2014, MPavilion has worked with the world’s most significant architectural thinkers to create a space for engagement with urgent urban, civic, and design concerns. Previous MPavilions have been relocated to new homes across Victoria, including University of Melbourne and Melbourne Zoo.

Tadao Ando's MPavilion will remain in Queen Victoria Gardens until 2030, following a decision by the City of Melbourne to extend its stay.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.
