Matinees
This summer ACMI have packed together a collection of international gems spanning documentary, drama, tragedy and a dash of comedy with the connective tissue being masters, experts and wunderkinds.
They'll kick off the program with one of the greatest modernist films from Europe as they screen the 4K restoration of Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal.
In the masters corner, there's classics from Akira Kurosawa alongside the latest film from the Dardenne Brothers. Jacinda Ardern’s expertise and heart as a political leader is brought to the screen with the inspiring documentary portrait Prime Minister. And Paul Mescal stars as an up-and-coming musician traipsing around the American heartland in heartbreaking romance The History of Sound.
