Join in a lunchtime BioBlitz to visit Southbank’s local community gardens.
As part of a guided walk, you'll get to explore two community gardens - Southbank Sustainability Group Community Garden and Melbourne Square Community Garden.
Discover and document insects you spot using iNaturalist. Learn about encouraging pollinators and beneficial insects to your food garden from entomologist Dr Ian Smith and hear from the community champions who are taking care of the gardens. Find out more about what is being grown and harvested and how you can be involved.
The walk finishes at 1pm, where you can then enjoy a free light lunch kindly provided by Melbourne Square.
This free event is part of City of Melbourne’s Insect BioBlitz, running from Sunday 1 March to Saturday 7 March. Join for a week dedicated to discovering, documenting and learning about the local critters who call Melbourne home.
