Greek Love: Written in the Stars

  • Talk
  • Exhibition

The Hellenic Museum's beloved, one-night-only event returns for its fifth anniversary – and this time, they’re shooting for the stars.

For millennia, ancient Mediterranean myths and histories have been a popular medium through which human diversity is explored. Today, LGBTIQA+ communities are breathing new life into these narratives, uncovering the threads of sexuality, gender, and other modes of queerness within them.

Join for a fun, light-hearted evening of history talks, creativity and connection, celebrating contemporary understandings of queerness through the lens of antiquity. Experience the treasures of the Hellenic Museum by night, enjoy a drink, and listen to inspiring talks from respected queer historians.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
