Festival of Craftivism

  • Workshop
  • Activity

Enjoy a hands-on day of activities exploring the connection between craft and activism, and the ways that artists create visual languages that support liberatory movements.

There are three workshops to choose from; registration includes a light lunch:

1. Create cyanotype images using an assortment of materials with Lardil artist Sonja Hodge.
2. Contribute to a collective embroidery project with Safa El Samad from Dukkana.
3. Design and print your own t-shirt with Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Wiradjuri man Tiriki Onus.

This event is supported by the City of Melbourne.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
