Located near Melbourne's Chinatown, 170 Russell is a mid-sized live music venue with a 1050 capacity. Opened in 1980 as Billboard Nightclub, the entertainment venue has been around for more than 40 years, providing live music to generations of Melburnians.

170 Russell hosts some of the biggest local, national and international touring acts coming through Melbourne, with gigs seven nights a week.

The venue has evolved today into an upscale multi-purpose space available for concerts, theatre, university and charity balls, and large corporate functions.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
