Playhouse

The Playhouse is one of the theatres at the Arts Centre Melbourne complex. Designed specifically for drama, the Playhouse features productions by the Melbourne Theatre Company.

With 884 seats, the auditorium is split into two tiers, with raked stalls and a balcony. Though particularly suited to large scale dramatic works, the Playhouse also hosts musical theatre, comedy, chamber opera, and contemporary dance performances.

Patrons can also browse the foyer's collection of Aboriginal artwork.
