  • The dimly lit central bar of Death & Co, with high bar stools, a bartender behind the curved bar, and bottles lined up on the back wall.
  • A dimly lit table at Death & Co with people enjoying drinks and shared plates of food, under the soft warm glow of individual table lamps.
  • A hand holding the stem of a martini glass that rests on a small table, with a plate of oysters, a bowl of olives and other nibbles nearby.
  • Two cocktails on a small round marble table, with a rust-coloured velvet chair in the background.

Death & Co

  • Cocktail bar

From their origins in New York’s East Village in 2006 to the cocktail bars of Denver, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C., Death & Co has redefined the modern drinking experience – one carefully balanced glass at a time. They celebrate the art of the drink – where every pour tells a story, and modern classics are crafted to stand the test of time.

Death & Co quickly became a cocktail institution and in 2010 won Best American Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Cocktail Menu at Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. Having published three influential cocktail books, Death & Co continues to create unforgettable experiences and connect people through cocktail-anchored hospitality, now here in Melbourne, their first international home.

Work your way through the seasonal cocktail list, enjoy a menu that’s designed to compliment the drink with every bite. From bar nibbles to fresh oysters and plates to share over the hum of conversation.

To those who shine after dusk, they offer a warm embrace.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
