Tschabalala Self: Skin Tight

  • Free
  • Art

Tschabalala Self, widely recognised as one of the leading figurative painters of her generation, presents her first solo exhibition in Australia at ACCA.

Skin Tight showcases a distinctive body of work that brings together painting, collage, fabric, and experimental print processes, revealing Self’s rigorous and materially rich approach to exploring identity, form, and representation.

Through cut-outs, sightlines, installation, and wall drawings, Self has created an immersive exhibition experience – one where audiences are encouraged to feel part of the installation. Inside her fantastic worlds we become active participants in the work, reflecting on themes of exhibitionism, voyeurism, myth making, and identity.
