The Mission to Seafarers Victoria

  • Heritage listed
  • Entertainment

The Mission to Seafarers Victoria (MtSV) has operated from its heritage-listed building on Flinders Street since 1917, providing welfare services to support the work, isolation and hardships faced by seafarers.

The recently renovated building is architecturally significant and is considered a fine urban example of a merging of the Arts and Crafts and Spanish Mission architectural styles in Melbourne.

The building is open daily to the public from midday and visitors are encouraged to take a self-guided tour through the collection of stories of Melbourne’s maritime history, explore the Norla Dome, and learn the history of the Chapel.

Discover the hidden cottage garden and Spanish-style courtyard and catch-up with family and friends over a cold beer or glass of wine from the fully licensed bar.

The unique venue also offers functions and events of all styles and sizes.
