Woman weaving at a wooden hand loom, wearing a floral dress.
16 – 30 Oct

Pop-up Weaving

  • Free
  • Workshop

More than just craft, weaving invites us to slow down, connect, and step away from the fast fashion cycle.

Using natural fibres, Corrin demonstrates the process of hand weaving before guiding you to try it yourself, discovering the calming rhythm of weaving yarn on the loom.

Together you'll reflect on the value of handmade textiles, the tradition of useful cloth, and weaving as a mindful, sustainable practice.

Corrin is a Melbourne-based hand weaver and educator at Workplayhouse, sharing the joy of weaving through workshops, courses and handmade textiles, with a focus on sustainability.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
