Page Turners: Reading Hour – Disability Inclusive Book Club

  • Free
  • Activity

Page Turners is a relaxed, accessible space for people to enjoy reading alongside others, without the pressure of a traditional book club.

Bring along any book you’re currently reading. You'll spend the first part of the session reading quietly together, followed by an optional group discussion using simple prompts. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you like.

There is no assigned book, no homework and no expectation to read aloud. Fidgets and snacks are available, and participants are encouraged to communicate and take part in whatever way feels comfortable.

Page Turners is designed to help people connect with others, enjoy some quiet reading time and be part of a welcoming community.

Bring your own book or borrow one at the club.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
