New Writers Collective

Meet the next generation of playwrights.

Over six months, a group of emerging playwrights has been creating, challenging and shaping their ideas through New Writers Collective – a writing and mentorship program for female, non-binary and transgender writers, delivered by Arts Centre Melbourne since 2020.

Across intensive workshops and masterclasses, participants have worked alongside established playwrights, directors and creatives from across the Victorian arts sector, developing their craft and bringing their original plays to life.

Now, it’s time to hear their stories. Over two nights, professional actors will bring the writers’ new works to life in a showcase of scripts developed through the program. Come along to discover fresh perspectives, bold ideas and the exciting voices shaping tomorrow’s theatre.
