In 1984 a young muso in Melbourne felt it was time to break out and take a solo billing. Michael Charles wrote, recorded, released, and promoted his music while touring across Australia. In 1989 a turning point in his life and career came in the form of an invitation to appear at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago USA. It was not too long after he decided to make America his home.

Michael Charles's roots are in the USA and his career comprises a catalogue of forty-one releases, his Chicago Blues Hall of Fame induction, and recognition of remaining one of America’s most driven artists as he continues to record and annually tours non-stop across the USA and Canada.
