The Medical History Museum at the University of Melbourne is a free museum for those inquisitive about medicine's contribution to scientific discovery and community wellbeing.
Established in 1967, the museum covers the history of the Melbourne Medical School and the broader history of medicine in Australia and beyond.
The museum’s collection consists of more than 6,000 pieces covering more than 400 years of Western medical history – from Roman surgical instruments to memorabilia from the University of Melbourne's Medical Students Society.
The Medical History Museum has an annual program of exhibitions and tours are available by appointment.
