Insects at Night

Join a night time insect BioBlitz in Royal Park with entomologist Dr Luis Mata.

Get up and close to the insects that come alive at night. The group will be using a safe lightsheeting method to discover what insects are around. Photograph and record the insects you find using iNaturalist and make an important contribution to help us better understand the insects in the park.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

This free event is part of City of Melbourne’s Insect BioBlitz, running from Sunday 1 March to Saturday 7 March. Join in for a week dedicated to discovering, documenting and learning about the local critters who call Melbourne home.
