Handel's Messiah
Join the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and an all-Australian cast for Handel’s Messiah – a Christmas tradition and must-hear for many concertgoers. Sir James MacMillan leads a deeply-considered performance of a work that has been a staple of the MSO's concert season throughout its 120-year history.
The MSO's starring soprano, Mia Chenea Robinson, is an expert in sacred choral music, and a local Melburnian. She sings alongside mezzo-soprano, Stephanie Dillon, who has previously conquered the heights of Bach’s St John Passion and Monteverdi’s Vespers. Louis Hurley and David Greco bring their familiar but world-class voices into those deeper-pitched roles of tenor and baritone, while this mammoth-scale Baroque masterpiece will be rounded out with the MSO Chorus.
