ACMI’s Best of 2025 program celebrates the best films based on all the creative minds that collaborate to make films.

The program considers the breathtaking costume design of Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein; the enormous bravery of Mohammad Rasoulof’s screenplay for The Seed of the Sacred Fig; how Sergei Loznitsa’s Two Prosecutors kept viewers on the edge of their seats without any typical thriller genre set pieces; how Gints Zilbalodis’ Flow moved viewers to tears without uttering a word.

There is power in big blockbusters and the collective water-cooler conversations they start, but this program celebrated the smaller conversations over quiet coffees, the word-of-mouth recommendations and the best films that made up 2025.
