City Hatters

  • Women
  • Men

City Hatters started trading as a men’s hat shop beneath the clocks at Flinders Street Station in 1910.

Steeped in local history, the store is still the first port of call for gentlemen planning a visit to The Derby and The Melbourne Cup.

Today they stock a huge range of contemporary, formal and casual men's hats, as well as an expanding range of women's hats.

With new stock arriving regularly, they pride themselves on finding the perfect piece to suit every customer. They even offer an alteration service, so customers can customise their headwear to their exact requirements with coloured ribbons, binding, reshaping, linings, chinstraps and more.

For much-loved hats that have seen better days, they also offer a specialised restoration service.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
