The Barre

The Barre, Arts Centre Melbourne’s sleek space running along the curve of the ground floor of the Theatres Building, offers a touch of luxury and hint of showmanship. It is often filled with the lively pre- and post-show buzz that takes the bar and eatery from early evening to late night.

The modern Australian menu, with its emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients, offers both small and larger dishes to be shared and enjoyed with friends. Choose from a well-considered wine list that gives prominence to local winemakers, an exciting range of craft beers and ciders, or a distinct selection of cocktails and small-batch Australian gins and single malt whiskies from Australia and New Zealand.

The Barre also offers a new range of alcohol-free options.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
