  • Cafe

Mr Tulk provides a casual cafe atmosphere in a beautifully renovated space - within the 19th-century wing of State Library Victoria.

The cafe is a licensed espresso bar, serving a range of hot and cold dishes for breakfast and lunch, along with fresh, tasty snacks.

For breakfast, try the toast, porridge or pastries. Lunch includes baguettes, toasted flatbreads and a rotating list of specials from the kitchen.

The name Mr Tulk pays homage to Augustus Henry Tulk the Library’s first Chief Librarian who helped build the library’s impressive collection.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
