ichigō

  • Restaurant

Ichigō, which translates to 'strawberry', like the characteristic of the fruit, is a fun, vibrant and unpretentious Japanese-inspired brunch café.

Ichigō's interior expression calls for a casual yet well-resolved and minimalist interior design. Soft lighting, concrete finish and a colour palette of grey, white, natural and greenery create an atmosphere of refined relaxation, a calming oasis and reinforce the message that ichigō is an everyday, anytime place to meet.

Marrying the best eats and vibes from Japan, ichigō's modern take on traditional Japanese food with a non-conventional twist is impressively aesthetic and delectable; best experienced in their minimalist and vibrant space. Adopting clever and playful twist from various cuisines, they serve to be innovative and to give the usual brunch go-ers a new perspective and a breath of fresh air.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection the Wurundjeri, Bunurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wadawurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin have to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We are committed to our reconciliation journey, because at its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, for the benefit of all Victorians.
