ÉN Japanese

  • Restaurant
  • Fine dining

ÉN is an intimate Japanese restaurant bringing the art of Kappo dining to Bligh Place. Kappo means 'to cut and to cook', and the format draws on the full range of the Japanese kitchen, including grilling, simmering, steaming and frying, in a multi-course tasting progression.

Led by chefs Takuro Abe and Shiro Fukushima, the menu draws on Edomae technique, with zuke tuna, shime-cured fish and sushi rice seasoned with unsweetened akazu. Seasonal sake pairings are developed with certified sake sommelier Kana Aoyama.

Designed by Victor Isobe across two levels, the space centres on a chef's counter, with black timber, concrete and a Karesansui feature wall.
