Baby Driver

Hidden above Beneath Driver Lane, Baby Driver is a vinyl-fuelled jazz and funk bar bringing deep grooves, crafted cocktails, and rotating kitchen takeovers to one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways.

With moody lighting and a warm, intimate atmosphere, the space feels both laid-back and electric, spinning 1970s jazz, rare groove, and soul on vinyl every Wednesday to Saturday. Behind the bar, you’ll find international wines, bold low-intervention cocktails, and rotating menus from guest chefs—currently Lady T, serving vibrant Latin American street food Wednesday to Saturday.

Drop in for Golden Hour (4pm-6pm), stay for vinyl and cocktails into the night, or book the dinner and show experience, featuring a chef’s menu at Baby Driver followed by live blues downstairs at Beneath Driver Lane — this is your new go-to for soulful nights, great hospitality, and a rotating lineup of flavour, funk, and fun.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
