Close
  • Looking through from a dining room into an active kitchen with chef's in blurred motion.
  • An hand with a tattoo on the wrist placing a cocktail down on a coaster on table with three small plates of snacks and a spritz.
  • A bowl of ravioli with basil garnish and a small vessel behind it.
  • A rectangular plate with a long piece of steak sliced into thin strips, a small jug of sauce and a glass and bottle of red in the background.

Antara

  • Cafe
  • Restaurant

Antara is a wood fired restaurant, bar and bakery where the menu is a reflection of the produce, seasons and Chilean chef, Juan Lantadilla Tapia's heritage. All are bound by the common thread of cooking with fire – flatbread fired in the oven, scallops sizzled in shell, and lamb and steaks roasted with flame.

There'll always be an empanada and ceviche, a nod to Chile, and hand made pastas courtesy of Italian sous chef Simone. Open from early to late, Antara – designed by renowned architect Kerstin Thompson – is the place to transit for house-baked pastries, breakfast, lunch (express options are available), dinner and pre-dinner drinks and snacks in the alfresco area.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
