The Human Algorithm

  • Free
  • Art

The Human Algorithm is an immersive fever dream exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on human behaviour and cognition, and the more than human world. Maximalist in style, it’s crafted generative AI tools, weaving its narrative through text sampling that mirrors the learned intelligence and borrowed poetics of large language models. Digital approximations of contemporary philosophers, scientists and theorists appear as interview subjects, their voices and likenesses cloned. A meta-human avatar narrates, delivering broken fragments of humanity’s literary classics.

Provocative and confronting, the film interrogates the network of thinking on the existential threat posed by the proliferation of AI and the economic systems and ideologies that are driving its sense of inevitability.

This is the premiere exhibition of the newly developed, 40 minute, three-channel video installation. A Sabotage Distance Production. Supported by City of Melbourne Arts Grants.
