Archaeologist Philippa Croll works in abstract to reconstruct places, people and objects in the same way artefacts are recovered and put back together to find their true narrative.
This exhibition is a survey of Philippa Croll’s career, describing the interior drive an artist must have to grow and develop. We follow the discovery of her talent at school, then concentrate on her various artistic phases to the present day. Through many classes in search for pathways, she has been surrounded by other artists and pursued known schools of art, building change into her work.
As an archaeologist, her abstract pieces reconstruct places, people and objects in the same way artefacts are recovered and put back together to find their true narrative. The result is an established and awarded artist who is able to give complete expression to her ideas and full rein to her imagination through painting, drawing, mixed media and sculpture.
Opening event on Saturday 18 April, at 1pm.
