Melbourne Youth Orchestra: The Big Busk

  • Free
  • Music

Queen Victoria Market comes alive with music when Melbourne Youth Orchestras (MYO) presents The Big Busk.

More than 650 young musicians perform across a main stage and busking locations throughout the market, with everything from soloists and chamber ensembles to jazz bands, concert bands, string orchestras and MYO's flagship orchestra.

Free to attend, the event is also a fundraiser for MYO's Future Fund, supporting access to outstanding ensemble music education and performance opportunities for young people across Victoria. The Big Busk gives students a unique opportunity to build confidence by performing in a relaxed public setting while sharing their passion for music.

The MYO Big Busk is more than a fundraiser, it's a vibrant celebration of community, creativity and the transformative power of music, creating memorable experiences for performers and audiences alike.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
