Melbourne Youth Orchestra: Eternal Dreams
Join the Melbourne Youth Orchestra in Eternal Dreams as they explore music driven by courage, imagination and emotional intensity.
Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No.3 launches the program with a powerful statement of struggle and triumph, its urgency setting the tone for an evening of drama. Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No.1 follows, featuring exceptional soloist and former MYO musician Freya Parr - showcasing lyrical elegance, agility and expressive warmth.
After interval marks a shift in mood. Richard Strauss’s Träumerei am Kamin, offers a moment of reflection and intimacy. The concert culminates in Strauss’s exhilarating Don Juan - a vivid and fearless portrait bursting with energy, passion and orchestral colour.
Through these works, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra charts a compelling journey from heroic resolve to dreamlike reverie and unrestrained drama.
