Mel McGlensey is Normal is co-created by game designer Douglas Wilson, who has worked on award-winning videogames like Sportsfriends and Mutazione. The custom application that manages the audio and visual elements of the show is programmed and operated live by Douglas during each show.

Combining both Mel and Douglas’ expertise, the show injects ideas from videogame narrative design into clown, improv and live performance, with the ultimate aim of asking the question, 'What is normal?'.
