Maracatu Estrela do Mar: Afro-Brazilian Percussion Workshops

Teaching Afro-Brazilian rhythm, song and movement at regular workshops in a style traced through the lineage of groups (or 'nations') such as Estrela Brilhante, Leão Coroado, and others. Estrela do Mar share a living tradition of maracatu locally to promote social inclusion, break cultural barriers, and facilitate community building and engagement.

No musical experience is required; all instruments provided.

Not suitable for children.
