Flora

  • Entertainment

Beneath the cracked clay, a seed unfurls. Leaf. Bloom. Life. Promise. Crossing time and space. The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre present the world premiere of Flora by Frances Rings, an exciting and bold new dance collaboration.

Flora marks the fourth time the companies have joined forces, and in this first full-length collaboration, Bangarra's signature storytelling style takes you on a journey through the evolution of Australian flora. An unmissable new work, Flora traces the profound influence of major historic and environmental events on both the landscape and its people.

With an ensemble of over 35 dancers drawn from both companies, Flora is a new chapter in Australian performance. Journey through living history in this unique dance experience.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
