This darkly comic queer coming-of-age story follows Josh’s move from Geelong to Byron Bay, where his family bought a pirate ship and became the town pirates – a perfect metaphor for their beautiful dysfunction.

Through heart, humour and unfiltered honesty, Josh Moyes unpacks the contradictions of the Byron lifestyle and the unexpected beauty in growing up different. This Midsumma premiere is a love letter to misfits, late bloomers, and anyone who’s ever had to find their glitter in the storm.
