Festival of Veterans Arts

  • Free
  • Festival

The Festival of Veterans Arts is a multi-day celebration of contemporary arts and culture led by veterans, created to connect the veteran community and the wider public through powerful, accessible arts experiences. Presented by Australian National Veterans Arts Museum, the festival combines veteran-focused programs with a strong public events offering designed for audiences of all ages.

Public events include a performing artist showcase, a vibrant Family Day with a Colour Parade and participatory Family Gallery, a veterans public arts trail across Melbourne, the Sky Writing book launch and artist talk, and the March to Art exhibition launch.

Alongside these public events, the festival also delivers dedicated spaces and programs for current and former-serving ADF members, and families of current and former serving ADF members. The festival invites the broader community to engage with veteran creativity, stories and contemporary culture in welcoming, family-friendly settings.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
