Derrick Gee’s Radio Hour

  • Music
  • Talk

Part music talk show, part communal listening experience – Derrick Gee’s Radio Hour transforms Melbourne Recital Centre into a living room full of friends.

A self-described ‘professional music fan’, the Sydney/Eora-based DJ and tastemaker has built a devoted global following through an instinct for uncovering the emotional worlds inside music. Following a sold-out performance at Sydney Opera House, his Radio Hour special arrives in narrm with guest appearances from singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin and cult label founder Michael Kucyk of Efficient Space.

With a nod to radio hours of the past, the evening moves through curated tracks, live performance and personal reflection. Calling on esteemed musician friends from his personal Rolodex and drawing from a vast archive, Gee uses music to trace the links between culture and connection. Tracks become gateways into playful, heartfelt conversations about what it means to truly listen.
